After his service in Vietnam, our founder,
Brother Wayne White, had a special place in his heart for his fellow veterans. This led to his establishing a program to address Veteran homelessness in 2009. Today, our program provides homeless veterans with a short-term home, three nutritious meals per day and 24/7 staff supervision.
Besides basic food and shelter, residents receive a variety of support services.These services allow our Veterans to work toward securing permanent housing, investigate career options, and take advantage of the services available to them through the VA.
The Heroes Home Gate program has successfully placed over 70% of those who have stayed with us into permanent housing.
Heroes Home Gate is a residential case management program where each Veteran recieves one on one attention and care from a dedicated staff member to help them reach their goals. In addition to providing safe, stable shelter and three square meals a day, some of the things we do with Veterans include the following:
